Trader Joe's Snack Haul
Trader Joe's Snacks
I'll have to admit, I love snacks and Trader Joe's has to be one of my favorite places to grab a quick treat. Whether you're trying to stock up for the week, pack some back to school lunches with love, or putting together a snack board for "company", there are some super delicious and healthy options that are inexpensive and quick to throw together.

1. Veggie Sticks
These have all the crispy, salty feels if you're a chip lover like me. My husband and I even love to much on these as a "side" instead of french fries for our veggie burgers or sandwiches. On the "healthy" scale they beat out most other chips due to the monosaturated and polyunsaturated fats and no added sugar. The calorie count per serving is only 140 per 50 sticks as well - other than that these do have a bit of sodium so I try to eat them sparingly.

2. Plantain Chips
Again with the salty, crunchy goodness. I love these because they only have three ingredients: plantain, sunflower oil, and salt. They are perfect on their own or to add with some salsa or even avocado! YUM! If you're watching your calorie or salt intakes, stick to the serving size and snack sparingly.

3. Roasted Seaweed
These are at the top of my list to check all three boxes - salty, crunchy, and nutritious. For the ingredients, you've got seaweed, canola oil, sesame oil and sea salt. These are under 100 calories for a pack and also have a decent amount Vitamin C for an added bonus.

4. Chips & Dip
My chips of choice are the Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips that go so perfectly with Zhoug Sauce. I personally love the pop of color the blue tortilla chips add - they pair beautifully with guacamole as well. I chose Zhoug Sauce instead of salsa because it's absolutely delicious and I always tend to have some on hand. Not only does it taste delicious with these chips, but I've been known to throw it on sandwiches, salads, burgers, and even pasta as well.

5. Crackers & Spread
I'm going to share with you a little family recipe - I make this snack for all of our family holidays and love to bring it to potlucks as well. It's rich, creamy, sweet, and tangy - and not to mention beautiful! Start with Trader Joe's Multigrain Crackers (which go perfectly with almost everything by the way) spread over a thin layer of Garlic Spread and top it off with some fresh Pomegranate Seeds. YUM!!!

6. Hummus & Pita Chips or Cucumber
This one is at the top of the list as far as "healthy snacks" go - hummus is full of great plant-based protein, fiber and iron and is a perfect pairing with sliced English cucumbers to keep your calorie count low. Cucumbers are mostly water but add in a little fiber and vitamin C for you. Or, if you're feeling even more snacky - you can grab some Pita Chips too! I love to top my hummus off with a little more olive oil and a pinch of smoked paprika.

Quick Tip: What Olive Oil Should you Use?
For drizzling over hummus you'll want to use some higher quality extra virgin olive oil. My personal favorite is Nuvo olive oil - it's so fresh and creamy and isn't bitter to the taste like a lot of store-bought oils - which matters here when you'll be able to taste the flavor when using it for dipping oil vs cooking with it. I found this company at a local farmers market and have been obsessed ever since - you can grab some for yourself HERE.
7. Sliced Apples
These apples are the perfect grab and go snack. They keep really well in the fridge and of course, go perfectly with nut butter or whipped cream. MMMMMM.
Check out my Vegan Whipped Cream recipe.

8. Chile Lime Seasoning & Fruit
This Chile Lime Seasoning is a game-changer. It pairs perfectly with cut mango, watermelon, and honeydew. This tangy spicy seasoning pairs perfectly with the sweetness of just about any fruit.

9. Banana Bread
Guys, this Banana Bread hits all the feels - it's moist, rich, and sweet. My husband Tony loves this stuff and I know you will too. I love to throw it in the microwave for about 10 seconds and spread on some of my favorite vegan butter.

10. Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are some of the best vegan cookies I've found - seriously! They have a couple of different kinds but I love the classic chocolate chip. They are the perfect treat when you've got a sweet tooth.
